SEA out in force again
23 October 2006

SEA activists promoting Lindhurst wind farm

Activists from Sustainable Energy Alliance (SEA) were out on the streets of
Newark for the second time this month, campaigning for the proposed Lindhurst
wind farm just south of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. They were giving the townspeople the opportunity to show their support for the five turbine wind farm, which will provide enough clean, green energy each year to power 5,000 homes.

Jonathan Lincoln, SEA group coordinator said " The support we received was
just fantastic, over the two days we collected in excess of 600 letters backing
the project! Many, many thanks to all those who gave their time and energy on the day." The letters will be submitted to the Newark and Sherwood Planning Authority soon and a decision on Lindhurst is expected in the next two months from the Planning Authority.

For more information about the application go to the SEA Website at www.se-alliance.org.uk.

The photo above shows the group proudly displaying their brand new banner for the first time.

SEA have welcomed Cathy Mackle as their new regional co-ordinator for the Midlands, and Brian Norris for the East Midlands. They are also looking for regional SEA co-ordinators around the UK to help support local wind farm applications – any interested people should contact Jonathan or Cathy.

SEA have some cool t-shirts (over 100 sold so far!) and other windy goods too. (This is how they fund themselves - from merchandise sales). Click here to view.

"We also have a page for supportive comments for this wind farm and wind power in general, to add yours please send to jon@leafandstream.fsnet.co.uk - Thanks!"
