Yes2wind takes the offensive

Posted 24th May 2011
Unlike many campaigning organisations which (rightly!) offer people the opportunity to submit a template letter of support for a specific project, yes2wind uses a facility to create a letter which reflects individual concerns. Because the method has been used successfully, it has been criticised by opponents as being unfair. Yes2wind is keen to emphasise that each letter they have helped supporters to generate is a genuine reflection of what the letter writter feels most strongly about. Often, the letters contain their own 'colourful' language. The UK is at an 'energy crossroads! The development of renewable energy projects such as onshore wind is essential, not simply for environmental reasons but also to bridge the gap that is going to be left when 25% of our conventional generating plant is retired in the next decade. Yes2wind's objective is to ensure that the voice of the otherwise silent majority is heard and that the UK is not driven, head-in-the-sand, into an energy crisis that can so easily be avoided.
