Wind Energy Saves Jobs

Once again, investors have shown their confidence in the potential for the onshore wind energy sector (link to further information at the end of this article). It's no exaggeration to say that thousands of jobs will be made available, here in the UK, if the government holds its nerve and sticks with the Renewable Energy Plan that has been put forward to the EU: 15% of ALL energy to come from renewable sources by 2020, which means 30% of electricity supply to be renewable. This, in turn, means that we need about 14GW of onshore wind - about 3 or 4 times as much as we currently have.

As the linked article shows, that in turn means thousands of new jobs.

Those who object to wind farms for purely self interested reasons are spoiling the benefits that will potentially accrue to many many more people. It's time to stand up and be counted and say 'yes'
