French firm starts wind operations in Stirlingshire

French company GDF SUEZ has completed the construction of its first UK wind farm project at Craigengelt, near Stirling, in Scotland.

The wind farm consists of eight wind turbines with a total capacity of 20MW, and full commercial operation of the wind farm has now started.

“We are very proud of the successful completion of the project. The UK is an important market for GDF SUEZ to develop, especially in renewable energy, and we see Craigengelt as an important step in the development of GDF SUEZ in the UK,” says Marc Hirt, CEO of GDF SUEZ Energy UK.
