What about other forms of renewable energy?
This web site focuses on campaigning on wind power, as it is the maturest renewable technology, and can deliver large amounts of electricity at a relatively low cost, and because it needs more public support to be successful.
Other renewable sources of energy are very important too. The UK has one of the best wind resources in Europe, but it also has a fantastic wave resource (particularly off Scotland). And even solar power has the potential to meet around two third of our electricity needs, even with the British weather. Wave and solar, along with tidal power and biomass, will form important parts of the balanced renewable energy mix that the UK urgently needs to replace nuclear and fossil fuels.
